Topic One: Technology learning tools

Group 5 Blog: Group Presentation 1
Tools: Google classroom
There are plenty of learning management platforms on the internet for gathering teaching materials and learners contributions and assignments. By combining the features of google drive and google products. It’s really a great platform for communicate between teacher, student and parent. However, it lacks of automated quiz for formative assessment. That’s why I seldom to use this tools in my lesson.

Group 1 Blog: SESSION1: VIDEOSCRIBE IN LEARNING
Tools: VideoScribe
It is really an interesting tools. The effect of video created is powerful and professional. And I think students must love it. If it provides a longer trial period and more function to use for the trial version. I think that it must be a good choice for teachers to prepare for the flipped classroom learning materials.

Group 2 Blog: Topic 1-Applications of technology in educational contexts: Introducing Adobe Spark Video
Tools: Spark Video
I have heard and tried this tools before. It is really a easy to use tools to create video. After your group presentation, I got more idea on how to use on teaching and learning. Thanks a lot.

Topic Two: Mindmap

Group 5 Blog: Mindmap - behaviorism cognitivism constructivism
The mind-map is created in a clear layout. It also uses different color for showing each branch with the same level. The idea is well-organized and easy to understand.

Group 1 Blog: SESSION2: MIND MAP OF 3 LEARNING THEORIES
Your mind-map is well-structured and have a good layout. On the left hand side, emoji was used to represent your group members point of view. On the right hand side, 3 learning theories each with 3 subtitles: definition, influences, examples with details are easy to follow. I was signaled by the color used for the definition. I also like the relationship between learning theories shown in red and green box.

Group 4 Blog: Session 2: Group mind map of three learning theories: behaviorism, cognitivism and constructivism
I like the idea that your group not just type the text to state the definition, influences and examples in the mind-map. You can integrate the mind-map with real teaching situation.  Apply the 3 learning theories to the lesson. Great work.

Topic Three: Tutorial Video

Group 5 Blog: Topic 3 activity video
Topic: Recycling Makes Life Better
I was shocked by the picture in the introduction. Recycling is a hot topic all over the world. People think that we have already given effort to classify the garbage into different type and make it easy for recycling. However, the real situation showed in the introduction part of the video told us that it is not. It really rise my attention.
At the last part of the video, it used more than 2 mins out of 6 mins of the whole video to show the procedures of recycling 3 types of materials. The procedures shown step by step is very clear and easy to follow. However, refer to your learning objectives, this part seems not to be directly relevant.

Group 2: Topic 3 - Web 2.0, digital media, and other emerging technologies
Topic: Typhoon
The use of Powtoon is interesting. It seems that it is easy to create a cartoon type animation video. But if we can tackle the problem of inserting audio narration due to the limitation of using the free version. It is really fantastic. I hope that I can create some teaching materials for my students. I think they must feel interested.

Group 1: SESSION3:DIGITAL NARRATIVE
Topic: Learning Cantonese:
I appreciate the group members participating in taking the video. The video is separated into different parts in our daily life, i.e. greeting, eating, traveling, …. It fits the target audiences who first learn Cantonese. And I like the dialogue of teaching the Cantonese supported by other language. However, I think it should be better focus on one language in either Mandarin to Cantonese or English to Cantonese.

Topic Five: elearning course

Group 5 Blog: Course title: Programming in Scratch
For the target learners, I agree the course is designed for someone who want to learn programming but with no previous programming knowledge. However, due to the length of the lesson, it is not suitable for younger student. So I think it is better to focus on tertiary students or adults who wanna learn programming algorithm but without any previous knowledge.

Group 1 Blog: SESSION5: E-LEARNING AND PEDAGOGICAL BENEFITS
I appreciate that Ronald select the course “Learn Python” and analyze it by the Bloom’s Taxonomy. It helps me to easily figure out the design principle of this course and it reaches to the listed level.

Group 3 Blog: Session 5: Online eLearning course
In the past, it is very very difficult to teach programming in the childhood. The boring learning interface and the difficult remembering coding syntax make students not willing to learn. Fortunately the development of block programming, beginners don’t need to remember the coding syntax, and this elearning platform provides a well developed structure for different target of students to learn with interested. It is really good for the promotion of computer programming.

Topic 6: Critical factors that make an online course engaging

Group 1 Blog: SESSION6:COURSE ACTIVITIES OF SESSION
I agree all the points that your group mentioned. In order to make learners engaging, point 5 (interaction between learners and teachers) will be the most important factor for me to learn online.

Group 2 Blog: Topic 6 -Thinking Activity 1 'E-learning Courses'
Your group mentioned the point “Gamification Element” which is an effective factors for engaging learning.

Group 4 Blog: SESSION 6: COURSE ACTIVITY
Your group mentioned the point “Enough assignments and assessments”.  I guess it should be some kind of formative assessments. Actually, how offen we designing the assessment should be enough and appropriate? Besides some online MC type questions for checking learning progress, should you think of some other type of assignments?

Topic 7: Compare similar Mobile Learning Apps

Group 1 Blog:  SESSION7: PRESENT AND COMPARE SIMILAR M-LEARNING APPS
Topic: Hello Talk & Liu Li Shuo
Thank you. I like your presentation so much. Your group generate the presentation in video format, it’s a easier way for me to access it through different device platform. The first impression is that I clearly know what 2 apps you are going to compare. Although you did not design some much slide to go through your presentation, I get a clearly understand in the flow of the presentation. Thanks Ronald, I recognize that it should be Ronald voice. The speed of narration is good for me, not too fast otherwise I can’t follow the content, and not too slow otherwise I would fall asleep. I have no idea in this 2 apps before. But after viewing this presentation video. I have a clear pictures on this 2 apps and get a brief understanding on the similarity and difference between 2 apps. Again, thank you very much.

Group 2 Blog: Present and Compare Similar M-learning Apps
Topic: Duolingo and Learn English Vocabulary - 6,000 Words
I appreciate that your group can produce this group presentation with narration by different group member in a limited time. Your slides and narrations are informative. I can get some ideas between this 2 apps by your analysis on both the speech and text. However, if you can provide some screen shot of the apps layout, I would have better understanding.

Group 4 Blog: COMPARISON BETWEEN TWO SIMILAR M-LEARNING APPS
When you design the slide, you used different color to highlight some keywords really helps me to focus on it. However, I have no idea on this 2 apps before, it is better to give a brief introduction and screen capture for showing the apps. Thank you.

Topic 8: Mini-Lesson

Group 5 Blog: Mini e-Learning Activity
Topic: Solar System
It is really amazing to learn through the solar system by the apps. In the past without IT, it is impossible to learn this kind of topic by interaction. It really shows the powerful of technology making a good effect in teaching and learning. I am glad to see that your school make a good use of STEM in the lesson.

Group 1 Blog: SESSION8: 15MINS MINI-COURSE
Topic: How to take a stunning photo with mobile phone?
Your mini-lesson is well-prepared. You apply what we learnt in this course to design the lesson. You make use of the Bloom’s taxonomy, ADDIE Model, ARCS Model of Motivation and Gagne’s Nine Events of Instruction to explain your design. I was engaged in your activities and got the prize of the Kahoot quiz. May be due to the time limit, I expect you can comment on the photos uploaded by the participants. Thank you.

Group 4 Blog: SESSION 8: MINI E-LEARNING ACTIVITY
Topic: Goldilocks & Three Bears
At the beginning I was not engaged since I am not the target learner of this mini-lesson. But I really recognized that King is a very good teacher in this lesson. Students are motivated to engage in the activities. She make a good modelling in the application of the Behaviourist theory, especially during the Kahoot quiz. Although I was not engaged at the beginning of the mini-lesson, I was changed by the attitude of the teachers. Thank you.
