  1. "Staying updated" and "learning profile" are good views that we group didn't consider.
Yep, some knowledge have Instantaneity. So real-time updating is particularly important.
And building students' e-protfoile is a solution to stimulate students' motivation where they can show their own work, interact with others, get some feedback and like what you mentioned, be rewarded. Thank you for sharing!

  2. For me, "Staying updated" and "Being practical and useful" would be the biggest concern, while other would be some supplementary features (though also important, to a certain degree). The reason for that is:

"Staying updated": Spending time to take a course with outdated information and/or knowledge would not only be a wastage of time, but also might lead to misunderstanding; and

"Being practical and useful": this is the most important factor to arouse my interest in taking an online learning course.

  3. I agree with what you have listed above. Especially for the last point that "Be able to keep their own learning profile" -Students should get rewards, so they can stay motivated and continue to learn. It is connected to our first theory --- behaviorism. It is great to combine what we have learnt before with our ideas and present them together!

  4. Very insightful opinions of making an online course engaging, especially keep updating and user's own profile, which can keep attracting audience and give personalized profile. One more thing to note that give different level of homework or content and give autonomy to let students choose their homework and what they want to learn is also important. Thanks for sharing!

  5. I agree with all your points. In particular, I like your last point, which is on students being able to keep their own learning profiles as it would give them a complete picture of their strengths, weaknesses and so forth.

  6. Yes, I think students should get rewards, too. It can drive students forward to study further and learn deeper. When students lose patience during learning, giving rewards may engage them to learn continually.

  7. I think your thinking of this is quite great, and have specific explanations to every points. And I do agree with the point of "giving feedback to students" because it will make students feel they are treated seriously, and they will involve in the course deeply.

  8. I agree with most of the points suggested by your group but I am not sure about what does 'Staying updated' means for your group. There are two points that I particularly agree with - 'Learning materials are practical and useful' and 'Able to keep their own learning profile'.

For the former, people (especially adults) spend time online learning want to learn something that is practical and knowing that they can apply this in their work, and therefore it is important for an online course to have such quality to engage the learners. As for the latter, the learning profile helps learner to keep track of their learning process and even if they log out and come back again, they can still see their progress and pick up at a certain point and continue their learning.

  9. In your group, the point “Learning materials are practical and useful - it can be applied to real life” is the interesting point of about the knowledge transfer which is similar to what I have commented in Group 1 post. That I appreciate.

  10. I agree with your answer. It starts from a perspective of technology. Maybe we can also consider the role of teacher, which is an important element during a class.

  11. I totally agree with you this point:Learning materials are practical and useful(-It can be applied to real life.-Examples are relevant to the target audience).
Because it is directly related to the learners, especially for adult learners to engaging in an online course. When people can learn what they can use into real life, they would pay more attentions.

  12. I agree with all the factors that you have mentioned. I think the last point ‘able to keep learners’ own learning profile’ is the most important. Both teachers and students need to know the learning progress. Therefore, some useful feedback can be given to students and hence improve their learning.

  13. Thanks for mentioning "keeping learning profile". When the process of learning is been kept, student would feel truly be notices by instructor and put more effort on the course. This is the part I have ignored.

  14. I agree with all of your suggestions. Two points, "staying updated" and "learning materials are practical and useful", are significant, which our group did mention. Learners' feedback can offer teachers important information to update their course, by which learners can keep their motivation. Besides, the learning contents and materials need to be useful and practical as all the knowledge learners grasp need to be practiced in real world.

  15. I agree with all of your suggestions especially "Staying updated". Nowadays, technologies enable us to do something quicker, faster, or more precisely. "Staying updated" and "learning materials are practical and useful", are vital. No one would like to learn something is outdated and impractical.
